Emotional Intelligence: Power of Young Minds - Joy Chowdhury - Embark College

Recently, the Embark College arranged a very effective session in which Prof. Dr. Joy Chowdhury, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Kairos Learning Universe and also a famous global professional of Learning & Development, discussed the topic of Emotional Intelligence: Power of Young Minds. This session was tailored to young students who are interested in the development of emotional skills that would help them to succeed not only in their studies but also in their personal lives.

In the session, Dr. Chowdhury informed that emotional intelligence (EI) is a very important trait that young minds must learn in the complexity of growing up living in these fast-paced modern times. Just as a person must recognize his or her feelings, understand them, and manage them, a person also has to relate to other people, to empathize with others. Engaging stories and interactive discussions brought home to the students how they can master their emotions and become better decision-makers who have better relationships with peers, teachers, and become resilient to challenges.

To think about how they could apply emotional awareness in real-life situations where the awareness was useful in dealing with stress, conflict resolution, and effective communication, students were encouraged to look at various situations. In her speech, Chowdhury provided useful tips and activities to make the students become self-aware and self-regulating, providing motivation, empathy, and being socially skilled five most essential elements to emotional intelligence that would lead to successful leadership and growth in personal life.

The discussion of resilience became one of the brightest moments of the session as students were introduced to how emotional intelligence can encourage them to recover after setbacks and handle a problem with a positive attitude. Dr. Chowdhury also talked about empathy, where young minds needed to see things from the perspective of others to form strong empathetic communities.

This session was not just about learning the skills but also motivation of young students to accept the emotional intelligence process as a lifetime process that will establish their future lives academically, socially, and professionally.
Embark College will remain dedicated to the development of young talents, and this is another possible discussion with Dr. Joy Chowdhury, to remind us of how emotional intelligence is the fuel that helps to realize the full potential of young minds and train them to become the empathetic leaders of the future.
