In his address, Dr. Sahasrabuddhe explored the critical relationship between citizens, institutions and the shared responsibility required to uphold good governance. He emphasized that strong institutions alone are not sufficient; active, informed and responsible citizenship is equally essential for sustaining democratic values, accountability and effective public systems. He discussed how ethical leadership, transparency, civic participation and institutional integrity together form the foundation of good governance.
Students gained valuable insights into the role of collective responsibility in strengthening public institutions and promoting ethical conduct in both public and private spheres. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe highlighted the importance of civic awareness, moral responsibility, and constructive engagement with institutions. He encouraged students to view themselves not only as future professionals but also as responsible citizens who can contribute positively to governance and social development.
For MBA and BSc.BM students, the session was particularly relevant as it connected themes of leadership, ethics, accountability and institutional responsibility with broader questions of public life and social impact. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe’s reflections helped students understand how principles of good governance extend beyond government into business organizations, civil society and everyday professional conduct.
The interactive session allowed students to engage thoughtfully with Dr. Sahasrabuddhe. They asked questions related to the role of youth in promoting good governance, the challenges of building strong institutions, ethical leadership and the relationship between citizenship and professional responsibility. Dr. Sahasrabuddhe responded with clarity, depth and a strong sense of public purpose, offering perspectives drawn from his extensive experience in parliamentary, cultural and educational leadership.
Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe’s distinguished career and scholarly background brought significant intellectual weight and credibility to the session.
