With extensive experience in banking, development finance, and advisory roles focused on environmental sustainability, Mr. Ojha provided students with a comprehensive understanding of how finance can drive positive environmental and social impact.

The session explored the growing importance of green finance in addressing climate change while creating new business opportunities. Mr. Ojha explained key concepts such as green bonds, sustainable lending, carbon markets, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing, and climate risk assessment. He highlighted how financial institutions and businesses are increasingly integrating sustainability into their core strategies to meet regulatory requirements, attract responsible investors, and build long-term resilience.

Students gained practical insights into the tools and frameworks used in green finance. Mr. Ojha discussed how to evaluate green projects, structure sustainable financial instruments, measure environmental impact, and align business models with global sustainability standards such as the Paris Agreement and Nepal’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). He shared real-world case studies from Nepal and the region, including successful green bond issuances, renewable energy financing, sustainable agriculture projects, and climate adaptation initiatives.

A major focus was on the opportunities and challenges of green finance in Nepal. Mr. Ojha addressed the country’s vulnerability to climate change, the potential for green investments in hydropower, clean energy, sustainable tourism, and circular economy models. He also discussed barriers such as limited awareness, high perceived risks, regulatory gaps, and the need for capacity building among financial institutions and businesses. Students learned how green finance can support Nepal’s transition to a low-carbon economy while generating employment and fostering innovation.

Mr. Ojha encouraged students to view sustainability not as a cost but as a strategic business advantage. He emphasized the role of future managers and leaders in driving the green transition through responsible investment decisions, innovative financing solutions, and cross-sector collaboration.

Mr. Ankush Ojha’s professional expertise brought strong credibility and depth to the session. With a strong background in sustainable finance and advisory work with banks, development organizations, and government bodies, he has been actively involved in promoting green growth and climate finance initiatives in Nepal and South Asia. The session concluded with an engaging and interactive question-and-answer segment. Students asked insightful questions on career opportunities in green finance and sustainability consulting, strategies for implementing green practices in Nepali businesses, access to climate funds, and the future outlook of sustainable investing in emerging markets. Mr. Ojha provided practical advice and motivated students to consider sustainability as a core part of their future leadership roles.
