Embark College hosted a comprehensive and highly enriching guest session on Project Management and Organisational Development on 25th June 2026 for MBA students. The session was delivered by Mr. Bishnu Chandra, Head of HR and Organisational Development at Grepsr, one of Nepal’s most successful and respected IT and data services companies with a strong global client base.
Mr. Chandra brought a distinctive and valuable perspective to the session by seamlessly integrating advanced project management principles with organisational development strategies. He emphasized that in today’s technology-driven business environment, exceptional project delivery is not possible without strong people management, team culture, and organisational agility. His dual expertise offered students a holistic understanding of how HR practices and structured project methodologies work together to achieve outstanding business outcomes.
The session began with an overview of the evolving project management landscape in the IT and digital services sector. Mr. Chandra walked students through the complete project lifecycle from initiation and detailed planning to execution, monitoring & control, and successful closure. He discussed modern
methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid approaches, explaining when and how to apply each framework depending on project nature and client requirements. He highlighted practical tools such as sprint planning, burndown charts, risk registers, and stakeholder communication matrices that are used daily at Grepsr.
A significant portion of the session focused on the critical role of organisational development in project success. Mr. Chandra explained how talent acquisition, skill development, performance management, team motivation, and leadership development directly influence project quality and timelines. He shared real examples from Grepsr’s journey of managing complex, long-term projects for international clients while simultaneously building a strong, motivated, and capable workforce in Nepal.
Students gained deep insights into the challenges commonly faced by project managers in Nepal’s IT-BPM industry. Mr. Chandra openly discussed issues such as talent retention amid global competition, managing distributed and remote teams across time zones, handling client expectations, mitigating infrastructure-related risks, and maintaining consistent quality standards. He also covered strategies for fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovation within project teams.
The interactive nature of the session allowed students to engage actively. Mr. Chandra facilitated discussions on real project scenarios, encouraging participants to analyze risks, propose solutions, and think strategically about resource optimization and change management. He stressed the importance of soft skills, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, effective communication, and adaptive leadership alongside technical project management competencies.
Mr. Bishnu Chandra’s senior leadership position as Head of HR and Organisational Development at Grepsr lent immense credibility to the session. His hands-on experience in both people management and project delivery provided students with authentic, practical knowledge that goes beyond textbooks. He inspired the audience by sharing success stories of how Grepsr has grown into a trusted global partner through disciplined project execution and strong organisational foundations.
The session concluded with a lively and extended question-and-answer segment. Students asked insightful questions on career pathways in project management and HR, preparing for international certifications like PMP, handling difficult stakeholders, building high-performance project teams, and balancing technical expertise with people leadership. Mr. Chandra offered detailed, experience-based responses and valuable career guidance, motivating students to develop both their technical and leadership capabilities.
