Embark College hosted a thought-provoking and highly relevant Interaction Session with Mr. Manish Jha,
Founder of FACTS Research & Analytics, on 13th March 2026, exclusively for BSc. Business Management
(BSc. BM) and MBA students. As a prominent figure in Nepal’s research, analytics, and public policy
spheres, Mr. Jha also serves as the official spokesperson for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and was
recently elected as a Member of Parliament. His multifaceted career spanning data-driven business
consulting, political communication, and legislative engagement offered students a unique window into
the intersection of business, research, governance, and national development in contemporary Nepal.
The session provided an open, conversational platform rather than a traditional lecture, allowing BSc.
BM undergraduates and MBA candidates to engage directly with Mr. Jha on pressing topics: the role of
evidence-based decision-making in business and policy, the growing importance of analytics in Nepal’s
economy, the challenges and opportunities of public-private collaboration, and how young professionals
can contribute to nation-building while pursuing successful careers. Mr. Jha began by sharing his journey
from establishing FACTS Research & Analytics as a leading firm specializing in market research, consumer
insights, public opinion polling, economic analysis, and policy advisory to entering active politics with the
RSP , where he now influences legislative agendas on economic reform, youth empowerment,
governance transparency, and digital transformation.
He emphasized that in Nepal’s rapidly changing landscape characterized by digital disruption, youth
demographics, infrastructure ambitions, foreign investment inflows, and post-pandemic recovery
business leaders and policymakers increasingly rely on robust data and analytics to make informedchoices. Mr. Jha illustrated how FACTS has supported private-sector clients in sectors like banking, FMCG,
telecom, real estate, and tourism by delivering actionable insights through surveys, focus groups,
econometric modeling, and trend forecasting. He connected these practices to broader national
priorities: using research to identify skill gaps in the workforce, assess investment climates, evaluate
policy impacts, and guide inclusive growth strategies insights particularly valuable for MBA students
exploring strategic management, market analysis, and consulting careers, as well as BSc. BM students
preparing for data-informed business roles.
A significant portion of the interaction focused on the nexus between business and politics in Nepal. As
RSP spokesperson and a newly elected MP , Mr. Jha candidly discussed how political stability, regulatory
reforms, and policy predictability influence entrepreneurship, FDI attraction, and private-sector
confidence. He highlighted recent legislative efforts around economic liberalization, digital governance,
anti-corruption measures, and youth employment areas where business graduates can play advisory or
implementation roles. He encouraged students to view public policy not as distant from business but as a
critical enabler: strong institutions, clear rules, and responsive governance create fertile ground for
innovation, startups, and sustainable enterprises.
Mr. Jha also addressed leadership and ethical considerations in both domains. He spoke about the
importance of integrity, evidence-based advocacy, and balancing stakeholder interests whether
managing a research firm serving diverse clients or representing constituents in Parliament. For students
aspiring to leadership, he stressed building credibility through competence, staying curious about data
and trends, developing strong communication skills (especially in public speaking and media
engagement), and embracing lifelong learning amid Nepal’s evolving socio-economic context.
The format fostered genuine dialogue: students posed questions on career transitions from business to
public roles, the future of data analytics in Nepal’s economy, how political changes affect market
opportunities, strategies for conducting impactful research, and advice for young professionals
navigating uncertainty. Mr. Jha responded with practical, experience-grounded answers sharing tips on
starting a research-oriented venture, leveraging analytics in corporate strategy, influencing policy
through evidence, and maintaining ethical standards in high-visibility positions.
His credentials brought unmatched authenticity: as Founder of FACTS Research & Analytics, he has built
one of Nepal’s most respected firms for independent, high-quality research; as RSP spokesperson, he
shapes public discourse on governance and reform; and as a sitting Member of Parliament, he actively
contributes to law-making and oversight. This rare blend of private-sector expertise, political leadership,
and analytical rigor made the session deeply inspiring for students seeking to bridge business acumen
with societal impact.
The interaction concluded on an optimistic note, with Mr. Jha urged participants to harness their
education to drive positive change whether launching ventures, advising organizations, or engaging in
public life. Students departed with renewed motivation, clearer perspectives on the interplay between
business, research, and politics, and practical ideas for applying analytical thinking in their academic
projects, internships, and future careers.Embark College remains committed to exposing BSc. BM and MBA students to influential leaders who
embody the fusion of business excellence and national contribution. Sessions like this with Mr. Manish
Jha equip participants with not only industry insights but also the broader vision, ethical grounding, and
strategic awareness needed to thrive and lead responsibly in Nepal’s dynamic economic and political
landscape.
