Kina Series: Visionary Leadership and Global Ambition with Nirvana Chaudhary at Embark College - Embark College

Embark College hosted a captivating and aspirational edition of its Kina Series on 12th February 2026 for
BSc. Business Management (BSc. BM) and MBA students. The session featured Nirvana Chaudhary, the
dynamic Managing Director of CG Corp Global (Chaudhary Group), Nepal’s leading multinational
conglomerate and the country’s only family business recognized on global billionaire lists. As a visionary
entrepreneur, philanthropist, Young Global Leader, and advocate for Nepal’s economic rise, Mr.
Chaudhary delivered an inspiring dialogue on building global enterprises from humble beginnings,
balancing family legacy with innovation, and using business as a force for national upliftment offering
students profound lessons in strategic leadership, resilience, and purpose-driven growth.

The session opened by exploring the “Kina” (Why) behind ambition in business: why Nepal, despite its
challenges, can produce world-class conglomerates; why family businesses must evolve through
professionalization and globalization; and why leaders must dream big while staying rooted in national
pride. Mr. Chaudhary traced the Chaudhary Group’s evolution from its founding by his great-grandfather
as a modest trading house to a $3 billion+ multinational with 136 companies, 76 brands, operations in 30
countries, and over 15,000 employees. He highlighted iconic successes like Wai Wai instant noodles, a
Nepali household name that has achieved global reach through quality, innovation, and strategic
expansion into markets across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.

For BSc. BM and MBA students, the lecture provided strategic frameworks for scaling businesses in
emerging markets. Mr.Chaudhary discussed diversification across verticals food and beverages (CG
Foods), financial services (Nabil Bank as Vice Chair, Union Bank Sri Lanka as Chairman), hospitality, real
estate, electronics, telecom, infrastructure, and more emphasizing risk mitigation, synergies, and
adaptability. He shared insights on international expansion: securing partnerships (e.g., long-standing
ties with Tata), technology transfer, brand building in competitive landscapes, navigating cultural and
regulatory differences, and leveraging Nepal’s advantages like cost-effective talent and strategic location. He also addressed modern imperatives: preparing organizations for AI and digital disruption, simplifying decision-making for speed, fostering innovation while maintaining core values, and building sustainable, ESG-aligned operations.

A powerful theme was leadership in a family conglomerate context. Mr.Chaudhary reflected on his
journey founding CG Finco at age 19, assuming MD responsibilities before 30 after elite education (Doon
School, Harrow, EMBA from MIT and London Business School) and the mindset required: blending
grassroots learning (starting from entry-level roles) with global vision. He introduced concepts like the
“4E” leadership formula (Energy, Energize, Edge, Execute) and stressed discipline, networking, thinking
differently, and resilience drawing from personal anecdotes, including humble beginnings abroad and
overcoming crises. He urged students to embrace calculated risks, view failures as learning, and prioritize long-term legacy over short-term gains.

Nepal-centric and societal impact elements resonated deeply. Mr.Chaudhary positioned business as a
driver of national development: contributing significantly to tax revenues, employment, and economic
contribution (approaching 10% of GDP for CG). Through the Chaudhary Foundation (where he has led
philanthropic efforts since 2010), he focuses on education, health, disaster relief, community
strengthening, and climate initiatives (as founder of Himalayan Climate Change efforts). He advocated for youth empowerment, meritocracy, good governance, zero tolerance for corruption, and private sector
roles in infrastructure, manufacturing revival (inspired by models like Thailand’s OTOP), and sustainable
growth encouraging students to build ventures that uplift communities and align profit with purpose.

Mr. Nirvana Chaudhary’s multifaceted profile added immense inspiration. A former national squash
player, music producer, artist, trekker, and Honorary Consul General of Serbia to Nepal (previously Consul to Maldives, honored with high civilian awards), he embodies versatility. As a Young Global Leader, speaker at global forums, and advocate for Nepal’s manufacturing and entrepreneurial ecosystem, he motivates youth through leadership training, policy advocacy (e.g., Confederation of Nepalese Industries roles), and public engagement via social media and podcasts.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students probed succession in family businesses,
global expansion strategies for Nepali firms, integrating AI in conglomerates, balancing philanthropy with
profitability, and advice for young entrepreneurs. Many left motivated by his blend of ambition, humility,
and patriotism.

This Kina Series session at Embark College illuminated the pathways to building enduring, impactful
enterprises from Nepal’s soil. By featuring trailblazers like Nirvana Chaudhary, the college continues to
inspire BSc. BM and MBA students equip them with the vision, strategies, and values to lead responsibly,
innovate boldly, and contribute to Nepal’s ascent on the global stage.
