Poster Presentation and Student Reflection Day at Embark College

Embark College successfully organized the Poster Presentation and Student Reflection Day on 14th August 2026. The event, hosted by the Academics Department, celebrated a semester of purpose driven learning and provided students with a meaningful platform to showcase their insights, creativity, and understanding of ethical and responsible business practices. It brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests in an engaging academic atmosphere that highlighted the importance of critical thinking and values-based education.

The event was organized in the presence of honourable guests Mr. Jaco du Toit, UNESCO Representative to Nepal, and Mr. Biswa Giri, General Manager of One to Watch (OTW). Their presence added significant value and prestige to the occasion, creating an inspiring environment for students to present their work and receive feedback from experienced professionals.

During the reflection and presentation session, four students formally presented their posters with confidence and clarity. Alina Manandhar presented an ethical case study analysis on Pathao Riders in Nepal. Her poster examined critical issues of income instability, lack of job security, and worker welfare within the gig economy model. She explored how Pathao riders face fluctuating incomes, harsh working conditions, and limited access to benefits under existing labor laws, raising important questions about fairness, rights, and corporate responsibility in the growing digital platform economy.

Kshitiz Sharma presented an ethical analysis of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project. His work highlighted the green energy paradox by contrasting the promise of Nepal’s largest domestically financed power plant with the human and cultural costs borne by local communities. The poster addressed community displacement, loss of ancestral lands and sacred sites, failures in free prior and informed consent, and the ethical tensions between national development goals and the rights of affected populations.

Anurag Tiwari presented a study on the collapse of FTX, focusing on corporate fraud, fiduciary failure, and ethical breakdown in the cryptocurrency sector. His poster analyzed how deception, misuse of customer funds, weak governance, and reckless risk-taking led to massive financial and psychological harm. It offered important lessons on the necessity of ethical leadership, transparency, and strong regulatory oversight in modern financial systems.

Anjal Amatya presented an ethical analysis of UNICEF Nepal’s digital education initiatives. Her poster explored linguistic justice, equity, and the challenges of implementing digital-first education strategies in linguistically and culturally diverse communities. It examined the risks of standardized digital approaches creating new forms of exclusion and emphasized the need for inclusive, context-sensitive educational design.

In addition to the formal presentations, other student posters were showcased in the terrace area, creating an open and interactive exhibition space. The display allowed participants, faculty, and guests to engage with a wider range of student work covering themes of ethical decision-making, sustainability, community impact, and responsible business practices. The exhibition encouraged informal discussions, peer learning, and constructive feedback.
