Workplace Conduct and Culture ( Office Etiquetts) With Mohini Shrestha Pradhan - Embark College

On 24th June, towards an excellent educational experience, Embark College managed to arrange a very informative and interactive training program on the topic of a very important issue, viz. Workplace Conduct and Culture (Office Etiquettes) under the guidance of an eminent HR personality, Ms. Mohini Shrestha Pradhan. The workshop was one way in which the college has been ensuring that it prepares students in a manner that would help equip them in not only developing knowledge-based information, but also skills and mannerisms on how to handle themselves in their careers ahead.
With the changing nature of industries and the augmented competition, before the technical expertise, the companies and employers have started showing more concern about the professional conduct and positive workplace environment as well as the skill of a person in getting along with other people. In order to meet the changes, the aim of the workshop was to introduce the students to some major elements about office manners, workplace norms, and how behavior may affect professional development and internal company harmony.
A faculty member welcomed and introduced the speaker in the session. Ms. The experience of Mohini Shrestha Pradhan was rich in terms of both, theory and practice, as she possesses vast experience in organizing and Human Resources. Being a member of varied teams and working with different industries, she shared particular ideas on the changing anticipation of new-fangled workplaces.
The scope of the workshop incorporated a wide variety of the necessary topics as, namely:
• Verbal and written professional communication

  • Style and dressing code
    • Timekeeping and punctuality
    • Electronic and netiquette
    • Valuing the hierarchy and diversity
    Managing feedback and conflict
    • Capabilities of cooperation and teamwork

Ms. Pradhan explained the significance of first impressions and things that are not written but that are guiding the interactions at the workplace. The most impressive part of the session was role-play games, or the simulations of everyday office scenarios like communication during the meeting, writing formal messages, and handling disagreements at work. This practical activity gave a possibility to the students to train what they had studied and pay attention to their style and behavior in a work environment.
Diversity at work was another important area of concern in comprehending and respecting diversity at work. Ms. Pradhan pointed out the importance of accepting cultural, generational, and gender diversity as a factor that helps companies create a healthier working environment and more innovative teams. She also gave suggestions in how to develop emotional intelligence and to be aware of body language and tonality in everyday interactions.
